Benefits of Heating Pads Filling Ingredients: Peppermint Flaxseed Lavender


Peppermint


The benefits of Peppermint has been known for centuries. Thousand year ago, Greeks and Romans grew peppermint in their gardens for culinary and medicinal uses, which are still practiced to this day. In Greece, Peppermint is commonly used in medicinal teas to treat cold and flu symptoms. They believe it helps relieve coughs and congestion. Italians use peppermint as a digestive aid since Ancient Rome as well.

Today peppermint can be found in many products ranging from toothpaste to chewing gum, candy, liquor, mouthwash, ointments, lotions, soap, and shampoo. It has been known to treat bad breath, indigestion, hiccups, headache and more.

Flaxseed is especially good for women’s health, bone health, and for its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains lignans that have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities.

Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types of fibers. It high in most B-Vitamins, manganese and magnesium and phytochemicals, all of which are beneficial to peoples’ immune systems.

When using flaxseed as a natural heating/cooling element in our heating pad product (rather than using a synthetic material or chemical gel), as it holds the property of maintaining heat and cold very well, therefore, flaxseed was chosen as the main ingredient. Lavender


In Ancient Rome ages, lavender was a prized commodity used to scent Roman baths. It was also used as a perfume, insect repellent, and as a flavoring.

Dried lavender flowers are used for many purposes like making sachets, potpourri, and for home décor. Lavender aroma promotes relaxation, calm and balance making it the perfect ingredient. It’s an essential additive ingredient blended in filling for heating pad as well as eye pillows and many other products.
